4 Best ways to Contact Blogger for a Deleted Blog

Has Google just sent an email that mentions that your BlogSpot blog has been deleted due to spam complaint or copyright violation or for being flagged several times? If yes then you are not alone because several blogs are deleted on monthly basis, sometimes for genuine reasons and sometimes mistakenly. If you feel that your blog was mistakenly removed due to a DMCA request filed against you, or you have taken the necessary steps to remove the infringing content, as per Google they can surely reinstate the blog upon receipt of a counter notification pursuant to sections 512(g)(2) and (3) of the DMCA.

We just reported around 15 sites that were illegally distributing our template layout without our permission to DMCA and it took less than 24 hours for around 7 of them to be permanently deleted. Most of them will also have their AdSense accounts disabled because DMCA does take into account the AdSense Publication ID also. Now for those of you who are spending hours of hard work to produce rich quality content, you should keep patience because there are several effective ways to get your blog back even if it was deleted by a manual action by blogger team itself.

First and Foremost

Before anything make sure you backup all your comments, posts and categories before taking any step. If you are able to access your blog account or blogger dashboard then kindly backup your blogger XML file by following these easy steps:

1. Go to Settings > Other
2. Click on Export blog
3. Click Download blog
4. Save the file in a safe zone
5. Done!

This xml file could be converted into a Database friendly format of SQL if in case you wished to restore it through a different platform like wordpress.

Fill up a counter notice to Blogger Team and mention everything clearly but in precise detail format. You will need to submit your name, phone number, website address and signature (your name). Make sure you fill up the clarification portion carefully.

2. Sending Spam Appeal

If you have send an appeal and received no response within 24 hours then you may submit the URL of your blog again using this secret door:

If I quote another source, will I be penalized for duplicate content?

As you all know, Google is pretty hard-up about duplicate content, now more than ever, because an awful lot of blogs and websites have started making money by blatantly copying material from other sources. This not only is unfair to the original source, it also jeopardizes the integrity of search results returned by Google. Hence the stringent TOS (Terms of Service). But what about adding quotations, or sentences/paragraphs quoted from other websites? It does classify as content copied directly from another website. So how does Google treat such content  and is it safe to include it on your website? Well, Google just released a video explaining how Google treats such content.

The issue was addressed by a video from Matt Cutts, head of Google's webspam team. In that video, he talks about the different practices applied by bloggers and webmasters online, and which of them is good and which isn't. You can see the video embedded below.

The ideal case

In an ideal world, people would only copy quotations, or things said by others that they like. For example, quoting a sentence from an author or public figure, quoting someone from their live speech somewhere (chances are, that speech will be copied by someone else too), an announcement, quoting from another blogger whom you find insightful etc. That is how quotes are supposed to work.



If that's the case, and you want to add such content on your site, then you can do it without fear, so long as you link to the original source. Credit should be given where credit is due. Just make sure you put the quotation in a block-quote tag, and everything will be fine.



People often ask, How will Google know whether it's just a quotation, or copied content that could get them penalized? Well, Google has some smart algorithms that will detect whether it's a quote or copied content. Besides, Google might check out your site manually. So don't worry if you've kept your end of the deal, and added a link to the original source and put the content in a block-quote.

When things go bad

Like much else, people are bound to exploit loopholes. Which is why Google is working on leaving as few as possible. It allows you to quote another site. But if you think you're gonna get away with copying an entire article as a 'quote', and then adding a link to the source, then think again. This practice will get you penalized.



Some bloggers also tend to excessively quote in their articles, adding little of value of their own. This will also result in your fall from grace in Google's eyes. So it's best to avoid such practices, and start creating valuable content. As long as you provide useful insights of your own, and quote reasonably with link to the actual source, there's nothing to worry about. Goo luck :)

How To Report a Copyright Violation To YouTube?

YouTube has an easy option of reporting violation of its Community Guidelines and that option is clicking the "Flag" button below the video. After you report the video with your selected reason, YouTube staff will review it. If the video is found to be in violation of YouTube's Community Guidelines which includes pornography, harassment, graphic violence or harmful or dangerous acts then the video will be removed from the site. But what if someone has stolen your video and taken away all your credits by uploading the video with their company name. Most often this happens with music videos and movie trailers.  There is a longer procedure which you can apply to get the video deleted. Follow up.

NOTE: Do not misuse this method by making false claims else your YouTube account will get banned.

Submitting Copyright Infringement Notification To YouTube

If your video content has been infringed, stolen and republished without your permission, then you as the original owner can follow the procedure below to get your right back:

1. Go To YouTube Copyright Complain Page
2. Then fill up the first two options like this:

      3.   Submit the URL of your original content and also the URL of the page where your content is republished/infringed/stolen.

      4.  After you have provided all necessary details then simply click the "Submit Complaint" Button and you are all done!

You will most probably receive a reply within 48 hours if your issue was crystal clear but if your case needed more investigation then it can take a week too.

 

Sign up for a Content ID?

To avoid violation of your videos on YouTube you can also create a Content ID that will be more like a license to all your videos uploaded on YouTube. If someone tries to re-upload the video that you already published then YouTube will automatically compare that new video upload with yours in their data bases and will instantly delete it.  Watch this video to know more,

Letter To Violator With No Credit Link

If someone shares your resources like in my case these resources are tutorials, widget codes, Icons, Buttons and templates etc. and that person does not acknowledge your efforts by giving attaching an attribution link on his post that may link to your homepage or resource page then you have complete right to demand your right. Sometimes people do link back but add a nofollow tag to your link so that search robots may not index that link and increase your search ranking. This is again a serious loss to you because nofollow link is equivalent to no link.

This is how you should write a polite notification to the violator:

"Respected Admin,

We have found that you have shared our tutorial with your audience without our permission. Our resource has been attributed with a nofollow tag. This is a complete violation of our Copyrights. We thereby request you to attach a proper credit backlink to the original post or remove the post completely within 48 hours.

Failure to comply will result in a complete deletion of your article. Your URL will be reported to both AdSense and GOOGLE DMCA. We therefore expect sincere cooperation from your side in this case.
